Wendy Rolfe Visit to LSU

My former Oberlin classmate and friend Wendy Rolfe came for a visit to LSU.  She performed a recital on the development of the flute throughout music history.  She performed on six different flutes, including one made of crystal.  She also taught a class on Baroque ornamentation as well as a class on Bach flute sonatas. NFA Convention 2011

International Music Academy in Colombes, France

This was the day that I listened to the piccolo exams at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris.  They were all students of Mihi Kim, who is a world class performer and teacher.  After that we taught and performed together at the Academie Internationale Musicale de Colombes.  It was a wonderful experience!

Amy Porter Visits LSU and Louisiana Flute Society Festival

Kemler in San Juan

I am so excited to be going to San Juan, Puerto Rico for a flute festival from Nov. 12-14.  I will do a recital with my former Oberlin classmate Wendy Rolfe and we will both be teaching two masterclasses at the the Music Conservatory of Puerto Rico.  More details when I return!

Lea Pearson Does Body Mapping Residency at LSU SOM

Lea Pearson did a week Body Mapping residency at the LSU School of Music from Oct. 4 – 9.  She worked with all of my flute students individually, taught a studio class, gave a presentation for the entire student body, played a recital with pianist Dianne Frazer, and gave private sessions to all interested persons. Concert and Class at Rice University
